On 20th April, Sunday, a painting exhibition was organized at Creative Jagat Academy, located in Rangirkhari, Silchar. The exhibition showcased artworks and handicrafts created by the academy’s members and students. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ganesh Nandi, Professor of the Department of Visual Arts at Assam University, and Dr. Santanu Das, Professor at Silchar Women’s College, as the chief guests.
On behalf of the academy, they were warmly welcomed by academy members Tupshi Das and Sonali Chakraborty. Dr. Ganesh Nandi highlighted the significance of visual art in today’s world. He mentioned that although imitative art has its own merit, true art comes from the heart and should be expressed through one’s unique style and technique. He emphasized that originality is what truly makes art impactful. Praising ‘Creative Jagat’, he said that the institution is providing proper education in fine arts through various mediums and is nurturing the creative potential of its students in the right way.
On the other hand, Dr. Das remarked that the highest form of learning is “creation,” and Creative Jagat is striving to instill this sense of creativity in young minds. He noted that children at the academy get the opportunity to express their hidden talents freely and joyfully in a beautiful environment. He expressed hope that such exhibitions would help foster confidence, aesthetic sense, and other positive values in children. He also wished the academy continued growth and success.
Among others present at the exhibition were renowned valley artists such as Mr. Sagar Roy, Mr. Jyoti Basu Dey, and several others. The musical performances by academy members Bishal Das and Tupshi Das added a special dimension to the event.
In conclusion, the founder of Creative Jagat, Mr. Ketan De Roy, expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the guests and visitors.
