On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, Creative Jagat Art Academy, located on Tarani Road, Rangirkhari, Silchar, organized a delightful event. The program commenced with a welcome speech by the academy’s director, Mr. Ketan Deb Roy, who discussed the topic “Rabindranath and Art.” He eloquently conveyed that our poet laureate, Rabindranath Tagore, was indeed a true maestro of art.
The event’s chief guest was Dr. Shantanu Das, a professor in the Education Department at Silchar Women’s College. He praised the director and all members of Creative Jagat, noting that he frequently visits the academy and is pleased to see children developing their latent talents in a joyful and supportive environment. He wished for the academy’s continued prosperity. Dr. Das then unveiled a bust of Tagore, crafted by academy member Mr. Saurav Deb.
The event featured various performances by the academy members and young students, including dance, songs, and recitations. The Rabindra Sangeet performances included Madhumita De, Moumita De, Tupsi Das, Madhumita Das, Arpita Das, Biprojit Pal, Ananta Kumar Choudhury, and Sonakshi Roy, accompanied on tabla by Biprojit Pal.
